ReEnergy Holdings Names Mark Thibodeau Facility Manager of Stratton, ME, Biomass-to-Energy Facility

Albany, NY – ReEnergy Holdings LLC, an Albany, N.Y.- based renewable energy company, has appointed Mark Thibodeau of West Enfield, ME, as the facility manager of the company’s Stratton, ME, biomass-to-energy facility.

Mr. Thibodeau has more than 10 years of experience in facility operations and management. Most recently, Mr. Thibodeau was the director of biomass operations at Covanta Energy, where he was responsible for the operation of seven biomass power plants. In his new post, Mr. Thibodeau will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the ReEnergy Stratton facility, which was acquired by ReEnergy Holdings in December 2011.

“Mark comes to ReEnergy with a very strong background in biomass-to-energy operations management. We also are pleased to be able to build off of Mark’s outstanding engineering experience and his commitment to the biomass-to-energy industry,” said James White, ReEnergy’s Vice President – Energy Operations.

ReEnergy Stratton, in operation since 1989, has 50 megawatts of generation capacity. This facility generates renewable energy from responsibly harvested green forest residue biomass and unadulterated wood, producing 250,000 MWh of electricity each year — enough to supply 45,000 homes.

Some of the electricity that is produced at ReEnergy Stratton is sold to a local business while the balance is sold into the New England wholesale electric market.

Mr. Thibodeau received a bachelor’s degree in Marine Systems Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy. He also completed General Electric’s Steam Turbine Generator training and is licensed in Maine as a First Class Stationary Steam Engineer.
