Maine is one of 8 states chosen for a study of state clean energy industries

AUGUSTA – New research from The Pew Charitable Trusts highlights how Maine helped pioneer the development of clean energy by harvesting its natural abundance of bioenergy, wind, hydropower, tidal power, and other renewable energy resources.  Pew’s Clean Economy Rising series examines eight states, including Maine, that have demonstrated leadership in clean energy policies, installations, and economies. The Maine policy brief will be release during a press briefing and lab tour on December 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the University of Maine’s Jenness Hall. The briefing will include the findings, a panel discussion and Q&A with stakeholders identified in the research.

Speakers include:

Other stakeholders highlighted in the research will also be on hand to answer questions.  Tours of the University’s Advanced Structures and Composite Center and Forest Bioproducts Research Institute will immediately follow the briefing.

The research will be available at www.pewtrusts.org/cleanenergy
