Coastal Carolina Clean Power

Coastal Carolina Clean Power, LLC (CCCP) is a 30-megawatt biomass-to-energy facility in Kenansville, NC, that is managed by ReEnergy Holdings and owned by Carlyle/Riverstone Renewable Energy Infrastructure Fund I.

Under an Asset Management Agreement between CCCP and ReEnergy, ReEnergy provides operations and maintenance oversight and asset management services.

Originally a coal-fired cogeneration plant, the facility was retrofitted to use biomass as its primary fuel and went into commercial operation in 2009. At that time, CCCP became the first facility in North Carolina certified to sell renewable energy credits under the North Carolina Renewable Portfolio Standard for both biomass-derived electricity and steam.
