Goal in Maine: Create Jobs By Replacing Furnaces with Biomass Units

The Bangor Daily News is reporting a $1.9 million grant to the Northern Maine Development Commission to establish a Renewable Energy Industry Cluster. It could create up to 400 jobs in two counties as workers will replace fuel oil furnaces with wood biomass units.

If that program were expanded across Maine or other similar areas, imagine how much of a drop in fuel oil consumption — and the parallel drop in fuel oil price — that would cause.
