Re-Energy guide Scott Folnsbee, operations and maintenance manager at ReEnergy Stratton, explains how a biomass plant works to Maya Caron, Lyndsey Brassil, Turrin Mondor and their eighth grade Stratton School classmates. The class has been learning about forms of energy this fall by spending time researching different forms of energy and the pros and cons of each. Recently they took their studies one step forward by visiting Re-Energy to see how wood chips are used to create energy. According to Paula Stevens, the students saw first hand a working power plant in action and were impressed with the fuel yard and the size of the equipment used to move the chips around.
